Surrounded by the lonelyness of the New York winter, Osvaldo and Mabel, two arrgentinans voluntairily exiciliated, roam around the streets. He is a psychoanalist that had to leave the cuntry in the years of repression and now is returning for the marriage of his niece. He has a secret project: that the eventual return can become definitive. Osvaldo and Mabel meet again with Negro (Mabels brother) and Yoli his wife. Both live in Lanus, where Negro has a mechanic garage which provides his income. The meeting takes place with emotion and tenderness as even if it is for a short time, the four characters get to be together again to share their dreams and emotions. Among them are those of Mabel whom hopes her daughter, brother and sister in law can move with them to the US. Mabel and her brother anunce their idea which brings problems. The four characters face the question of leaving or not the country. Yoli will make them understand that each individual must do what is best and in her case, hers is to stay. Time goes by and Osvaldo and his family must go back to New York.
